The definition of financial interest in the Conflict of Commitment and Interest (COI) Policy was clarified in response to the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) recent communications to the research community at large and to its grantee institutions regarding investigator disclosures of foreign interests. In these communications, NIH clarifies its existing financial conflict of interest regulation found at 42 CFR Part 50, Subpart F. The revisions to Tulane’s Policy mirror NIH’s clarifications.
